outstanding recall...

so i found an s/c i like (finally) just put a deposit down. doing my homework for the mot and it says there is an outstanding recall. i looked into it and its for R/2005/156 - a recall from 2005! will LR still do anything about this as it sounds like it could be a bit of a problem! Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF

Ok great it’s in that recall window mentioned... but after so long is a recall valid? Has anyone else had this done? What do they do? Current stable:

Well Stan... call the dealer I did and my speculation was wrong it was to do with fault front brake hoses - didn’t see that on vosa... at 100k what’s the chances these are still original? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF

If it is of any assistance, the front brake flexible recall hadn't been done on mine and it was at 100K just under two years ago. They were original. The local, French, main dealer did it for me FOC after authorisation by LR. So would think you would have no problem.

One thing to expect as possible is that it may throw up that the rest of the brake pipes will be flagged by the MD as needing replacement. Mine had already been done. Just to be aware that they may try to squeeze some extra work out of you.

On the other hand they may well need replacing. Very Happy John

I had the Front Brake Hose recall done last year as well. Dealer warned me that if the Bleed Nipples snapped then i would looking at New Calipers at my cost Shocked Shocked , so i went round all 4 calipers myself before handing the Car to them and made sure all Bleed Nipples would come undone easily Cool
