Light condensation on instrument cluster - Normal or not?

This is my second winter with my L322. In the last few weeks twice I have noticed a light condensation/misting on the instrument cluster (speedo/rev counter) - I haven't wiped it, so actually rather daftly I don't know if it is inside the glass or outside. I didn't want smeary finger marks on it. It dries out within minutes of using the car.

However, I do know moisture and electronics are not a great mix.

Is this normal?

Windscreen was re-fitted after at main dealer a roof respray by Land Rover. Wow, what a load of issues that caused me. I wonder if this is one more to add to the list.

Many thanks Wink
Mark

No, that's not normal.

There must be moisture in the cluster which is causing the condensation.

If the screen's been replaced, then I'd suspect there's a leak.

You need to get it sorted asap because, as you say, water and electronics are not a good mix.

Mike

i had a bit in the tft speedo screen recently but it was during the very wet and then snowy weather...much snow was brought in on my shoes and coat so the interior became damp..
i've had nothing since ..

Thanks Stan.

I'll certainly mention it on Monday when it goes in for a new sat nav aerial, which is another replacement needed as a result of their work. In order for Land Rover to take my claim seriously that they damaged the aerial I had to:

1) Buy a cheap GPS aerial to establish it was an aerial fault.
2) Get an independant engineer to argue my case.
3) Evidence that the fault only occurred after their work on my roof. Luckily I was able to do this.

Up until point 2, they hadnt returned any calls, responded to any emails. I am really fed up with them. Ok, so they are replacing it now, but it has taken nearly 10 months for them to admit. In that time I have been all over Germany, Holland, France, Austria and the UK with a flaky sat nav. Sturgess in Leicester. I shall not be giving them any more money Smile

Maybe some silca gel might help me:)

Just run the "Demist" system for a while.... the A/C will act as a dehumidifier and remove excess moisture from the interior of the car Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
