Tdv8 Wont Start

Hello Everyone. I thought I'd make a new topic to address my latest issue. If anyone wants the historical information on this breakdown please check out 'How to find top dead centre'.

Anyways; here is where we are at.

Two weeks ago I parked my TdV8 up, it was just after having the engine reinstalled and everything was working well. Coudln't fault it's performance.

The next morning I went to start it and it did start perfectly. I drove forward a small bit and then reversed a tiny bit and it stalled as if low on fuel. I did find the car slightly hesitant in lower RPMs since getting her going again.

Anyways; I went to restart and no joy. It just turns and turns but doesn't start.

I scanned for errors and the main one coming up seems to be immolbiler write error. To date to try and fix this I have:

1/ Used a small amount of easy start. (Won't do this anymore!)
2/ Checked the other key.
3/ Checked all wiring connections
4/ Changed the fuel Filter
5/ Checked valve on top of the engine.
6/ Replaced the battery
7/ Cleared the fault codes.
8/ Tried Inertia reset.

One error which I seen yesterday was attempting to get her going was low fuel pressure on the rail. This only appeared once and hasn't came back since.

Where should I be looking to now. I need to get her going as she's been off the road almost a year between everything!

Thanks Lads, your help thus far has been invaluable.

This may sound daft however how much fuel is in the tank? My friend had an issue with his 2004 td6 which had similar issues. His fuel gauge said that he had nearly 1/2 a tank however he was out of fuel. He filled it up to the brim and the gauge must have recalibrate as it has been OK since. 2015 Range Rover VSE 4.4 SDV8. 1998 BMW 840 Sport, 2008 Aston Martin DB9

A lot of modern immobilisers have a feature to decrease the tolerance of signals received and work when they are not getting the correct information, this is to help minor problems, if they continue to get the wrong info they will shut the ECU down...

You really need someone familiar with the system to go over it and decipher the live values to pinpoint the problem...

You could check for fuel pressure at the rail when cranking but if it's not there it could be the pump or the control for the pump so difficult to diagnose the old fashioned way...

I'd try the recording you mentioned in the other thread, it's free and if it doesn't work you will probably need someone else to sort it anyway....!!! Pete

I got a similar code on the BMW I posted about on your other thread when it wouldn't start, P0193, Fuel rail Pressure Sensor "A" circuit high, thinking that was the problem I changed the sensor and it made no difference, as I say, it turned out to be a bad relay which allowed the rolling code between two control units to be lost and needed to be re coded.
