2010 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey
Newbie with DVD Changer fitting enquiry

Hello to all. Hoping for help regarding DVD Changer fitment. I have a 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Vogue SE with the Dual View Screen which allows the passenger to watch the Hybrid TV while in motion, but because the Rear Entertainment Packge is not fitted the DVD Multi Changer is not fitted (CD in glove box is) to which there lays an empty hole on the right hand side of the boot, sandwiched in between the Hybrid TV and Nav Processors.
If I was to purchase the Alpine DHA-S690 does anyone know what LR part numbers are for the cables/adaptors and where they plug into or if you can use the ones surplied with the changer.
Also does the system require coding for you to access the controls for the Alpine unit on the front screen or will it be(fingers crossed!) plug and play.
Not intrested in fitting Rear Screens as there is just me and the her, just want to play concert DVD's to take full advatage of the Logic 7.
Thanks to all who read and help.

Having successfully tackled this on my wife's 2008 D3, including rear screens Thumbs Up (write up over on disco3.co.uk) I can tell you that it wont be plug and play! The car will definately need recoding in order for the icons to appear on the touch screen and this cannot and will not be done by the dealer, to the best of my knowledge I am not aware that the only aftermarket "faultmate" option is available for a FFRR 2010MY yet! Sad

Then there is the additional "agro" of requiring and sourcing the RSE module, cabling that cannot or will not be supplied by the dealers because they dont have part numbers, this even with the help of our friendly LR Parts Manager Shocked oh and also the small issue that the Alpine branded DVD Changer is not compatible and you will need to find the latest LR version, which believe it or not I did see one on eBay a couple of months ago Confused

So in summary, I did the complete job on a 2008 D3 using reclaimed wiring looms from a 2007 RRS in a breakers yard together with various "used" componets from "The Bay" and many man hours, then had the D3 recoded to give the necessary menu icons and the wife, the kids and me are very happy. Razz Now when I eventually change my 2003 FFRR for a 2010MY TDV8 Vogue SE will I fit the RSE system, NOT A CHANCE I will make sure the new car has the system factory fitted. Laughing

Based on the above I will leave you to work out whether its worth having a go or not Whistle
