fuel gauge showing empty after having to jump start

hello chaps well after a hectic morning as had to jump my 2005 td6 vogue for the 1st time ever i am now up and running and all associated warning lights have reset themselves apart from the fuel guage which has decided to show empty even though there's over a half a tank in ,,, any ideas anybody or will it reset eventually cheers

the fuel gauge is in shock from the jump start so once the battery is charged up do a disconnection procedure using our wiki details..this should reset everything.. ... - .- -.
