Given the general feeling of contempt towards the Police I can't see anyone actually wanting to help them. Especially when you consider how much of a ball ache you would have to go through as a witness. I know I wouldn't. |

I wouldn't look at it as helping the police as such - just helping to remove dangerous drivers from the road.

I have to agree, using any hand held device is distracting and exempting two way radios just creates a grey area. I have got to say even using Bluetooth or Sat Nav on the move as well as eating, drinking and smoking distracts from 100% focus on driving. But I am guilty here as I have the occasional slurp from a can of coke but if it stops others from balancing a cup of scalding coffee or tea on the dashboard, I'm happy to give it up.
