Expansion Tank Cover

Whilst looking up the part number for the expansion tank the other day I came across an "Expansion Tank Cover"

Does anyone have this?

Allrite Dave,

Where do you see that? I think the engine gubbins stays in the same place doesnt it regardless of LR or RH drive? Willing to be proven wrong...?

Mine's a LHD as well (although diesel), but I have no cover on my expansion tank either. What's it supposed to be good for?

I suffer from that too!

I cant find reference to it in the manual or an equiv on any of the BMW boards. I wonder if its a cold weather add-on or something like that? Maybe market specific?
