Always cold in London?

I've recently discovered the TV show New Tricks and have noticed in every episode, the actors always put on an overcoat when they leave the office. Surely it can't be cold all the time. **

I've never owned an overcoat, there's never been any need for one, so I have no idea if they actually keep one warm. Surely there'd be a draught up the skirt. Laughing

** It wasn't cold when I holidayed in London, Devon, and Cornwall in Sept 2014. Ron B. VK2OTC

Depends on time of day & time of year - during winter, and early morning/late evening during some of spring/autumn, you'd wear a coat.

BTW, London is one of the warmer parts of the UK....

I think it might be because all the actors are geriatrics and feel the cold these days. Half of them look as though they should be dead. Very Happy

Geriatrics like your avatar?

Maybe they filmed in winter when there are fewer tourists? Very Happy

Hot, yes, in Spring and Summer. Wet? No. I do wish we'd get rain more often. Sometimes we can go for many weeks without it. In summer, we sometimes get (where I am) really heavy rainstorms which may last 30 minutes and dump a lot of water. Admittedly, if it rained more often, I might need to carry waterproof gear when riding my motorbike.

Re our weather, you might just be right! Laughing

We actually do have winter snowfields at Thredbo, about 500km south of Sydney. There are more further south in Victoria. Ron B. VK2OTC
