United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black
|Replacement battery for the 4.4 tdv8.

Mine is starting to turn over slightly slower and i put the FBH on the other morning and it didnt fire up, probably due to low voltage (it was working fine earlier in the week). I do tend to run shorter journeys in it at the moment, but have done a couple of 3 hour trips a couple of weeks back.

They arent renowned for failing and its still working generally speaking, just a little sluggish to start on occasion, so was thinking I would try and source a replacement battery.

Has anyone found a replacement for the AGM unit in the newer 322s? I know that the car needs to be told that it has had a new battery by the new dealer, but I thought i would try and source a new one and give it to an indy with an autologic to reprogram for £20. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

this one seems to be a straight replacement....... looking at the one in the car it apears to be a LR branded Varta 019 with 95AH and 850CCA which is what the G14 is above? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

YES Thumbs Up But I think there is an ECU or something in the way that is covering the battery....it has to come out first Sad

The 020 is about an inch longer that the 019 but the height and width are the same....... Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

There is something there. It tends to be the explosive charge which gets in the way. Managed to get an 020 into the old car with a bit of faffing about. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had no fitment issues with the bolt on bomb... but then i was fitting a Varta battery (OEM) so i wouldn't expect there to be any probs. I only posted the last link cos the OP was having grief getting at the battery in the first place... It would appear that stuffing the battery under the windscreen didn't generate quite as much work as Land Rover had intended, so they decided to bolt a few extras in the way Shocked Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Like for like

I think a reprogram is still necessary. It's because the intelligent battery monitor will have been monitoring the falling performance of the old battery, and the charging will be optimised for an old knackered battery.
A brand new battery needs a subtly different charge.....
If you treat the new battery like an old one, it may not last as long as you expect.

Basically they are available from just about anywhere that sells specialist parts for LR's, cos you can't fix the car without one... If you get the more expensive BT (bluetooth) model it will cover the entire LR range... although you will need extra licences to access all the functions for additional cars...... but you'll be surprised what it will let you access on a non vin locked car..

The non BT models are model specific so make sure you get the right one Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
