I don't think that you need top reprogram if your do a like for like swap...........

YES But I think there is an ECU or something in the way that is covering the battery....it has to come out first

There is something there. It tends to be the explosive charge which gets in the way. Managed to get an 020 into the old car with a bit of faffing about. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had no fitment issues with the bolt on bomb... but then i was fitting a Varta battery (OEM) so i wouldn't expect there to be any probs. I only posted the last link cos the OP was having grief getting at the battery in the first place... It would appear that stuffing the battery under the windscreen didn't generate quite as much work as Land Rover had intended, so they decided to bolt a few extras in the way Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I think a reprogram is still necessary. It's because the intelligent battery monitor will have been monitoring the falling performance of the old battery, and the charging will be optimised for an old knackered battery.
