Seen quite a few dodgy oil temperature sensors causing misfires (due to incorrect readings)

You condemned it but who had to replace it ? Its one of those things that if it is an EGR and you strip down, you've really got to do both cos Sods law dictates the other one will go with in weeks. Cant get it on any machines till Friday afternoon |

I'll be replacing both of them. 120k miles, no previous history of them being done, and one valve definitely faulty Along with the front to rear brake pipes |

I know diesel is no where near as nice as the good old V8 however didn't realise the diesel were measured in Cat power and not horse power ! |

Been running on Shell and the problem hasn't manifested it's self. Had a couple of weeks of using Morrisons/ Asda fuel and it came back ! |

Take a look at the injector balance using some kind of diagnostics tool. Value should be between 0.8 and 1.3 but ideally close to 1.0. If one injector is deviating much from the others that may need to be replaced or maybe a tank or two with injector cleaner would do the trick... "Plentraktoren/Garden tractor": 2008 L322 TDV8

My car was doing this misfire thing when first starting, not all the time mind. Once it did it very bad and also chucked out a belch of smoke. Always cleared and drove fine NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! However i checked it with sdd and found - circuit low egr valve - and - minimum stop performance - sorry can't remember the codes... Both faults were intermittent and pending. Put a pair of EGR valves on, not done any misfiring since! Job jobbed! |
