rear console querie

I've plugged in a belkin phone usb adaptor thingy to the cigar lighter for my daughter to charge her phone whilst out and about..ive just noticed tonight after the cars went to sleep the light for the adaptor is still illuminated... is the cigar lighter port constantly live in the rear console? Don't want to risk a flat battery? Ta

According to the wiring diagram in Rave they do stay live.

Apparently it's connected directly to the battery via the fuse box, no ignition switch or ECU intervention.

It is indeed connected to the fuse together with the two front sockets but in fact they are fed through a relay base fitted with a bridging piece in the base to make them permanently live. If you wish to have the 3 sockets ignition controlled it is a simple matter of pulling the bridging piece out of the relay base and fitting a 12V 30A 4 pin normally open relay in it's place. The bridging piece is the yellow "relay" mounted above the rear fuse board in the rear offside compartment.
If you want to try this you can pull the yellow relay out and then fit the relay next to it it's place.
You won't have a rear blower fan to operate but you will have ignition controlled sockets.
You can then refit the blower motor relay in place if you purchase a relay to make the sockets permanently ignition controlled or simply refit the yellow relay to re instate as is.
One point some of these socket adapters tend to power the in built led for a short time after the socket is switched off by the ignition but the LEDs do go off eventually.

Thought so! It's getting freezing up here now so will leave the fix until later as the rear blower will be needed by the wee one..she can simply unplug the adaptor...i will leave it in tonight a bit longer to see if the led does eventually go out...thanks for input gents Thumbs Up
