Cold start

Hi, I've got a silly question to ask. I'm about to buy a Range Rover autobiography on a 59 plate. Two questions is there such a thing as a cold start button. I.e. When you press the start button on a cold morning there is a delay before the end roars to life.

The other question is that I thought that a 59 plate was a 2009 model? Yet the exterior of the car looks like a 2010 model? I ask because I'm going refresh some of the outter trimming.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Tom

Cold start is automatic and clever. The ECU monitors both exterior and engine coolant temp and uses the relevant fuel mapping. It also causes an auto to hold onto lower gears for longer to warm up the box fluid.

You can check the model year from the VIN.

Usually, a model year is available from the previous October to the actual year and the plate number doesn't change until March. For example, my '07 MY has a 56 plate.

Ah OK thanks for the advice. I'll check that out. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't bought a lemon with a dodgy starter.

Thanks again.

I had noticed this the last 2 mornings, felt like it was in sport mode. Was starting to get worried there was a problem looming!.
