TDV8 Engine Rebuild - Suggestions/ Advice

Hello Everyone.

You all might remenber my posts from earlier in the year about my TDV8 eating it's EGR valves. I'm still in the process of fixing it. Does anyone know anyone who could swap over cylinder heads for me if I send them an engine? I also have a spare block with any parts which might be needed.

Any Recommendations. I really want to get the old girl going again for Christmas. Thanks!

Most garages can swap cylinder heads on engines, nothing particularly unusual about the TDV8 engine...

Why do you want heads swapping...??? Pete

Basically, the EGR valve dropped off and went into the head. This caused Cylinder 2 to stop working. No compression.

Now, the problem could be entirely in the head or it could have damaged the piston. If it only damaged the head I have a replacement head which could be put onto the block and she would be up and running. If not, the block and or piston could be changed over and that would have her working again.

I'm looking locally but nobody in Ireland is very comfortable working with TDV8 engines or Land Rover's in general. They much prefer Land Cruisers. Hence, we I'm asking on this forum.

I e heard of an indie in kildare who is apparently into engine work in a big way. I'll try and find his number for you. My indie in Dublin is very competent so I'll ask him what he thinks if you like ? 2015 4.4 AB
