Hi, a riend has asked me to look at his RR its a TDI6 about 2003, the whole water system is full of engine oil to the point of forcing it out of the reservoir and obviously no oil on the stick but car runs like a watch, my first thoughts are ( I dont work on diesels) has this engine got a water to oil cooler and has it split inside? any thoughts? One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

The td6 has an oil to engine coolant heat exchanger just behind the oil filter housing and a transmission fluid to engine coolant on the lower side of the engine block near the front.
Both of these coolers are plate heat exchangers and can be prone to internal corrosion allowing mixing of the fluids if they fail.

Can you make out what type of oil it is? only if its the gearbox you might have a few problems with contamination  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
