phone system

Hello......may sound like a silly question but here goes.
I don't have a handset in my car but have the phone kit installed, I am in the midst of buying a phone for it, where does the SIM card go? Is it in the back of the phone or somewhere else?
Thanks,
Pat. Pat

is this the 'cradle' that fits the contacts in the centre cubby box?

Nokia i gather?

apart from a charging facility does it offer any advantages over bluetooth?

thats the one, the cradle takes nokia [mainly] and siemens phones..

advantage is that your contacts will be shown on the screen...you can get this with bluetooth but you need a dealer software upgrade for that.. ... - .- -.

My iPhone 4 connects without intervention and I can see the phone book contacts.

However it's not perfect, for contacts with multiple numbers it only displays the home number and i cant see how to select mobile or work etc, so I still tend to dial from the handset.

Mostly the incoming caller name is displayed, but not always Sad

I love the way it’s such a random event with the iphone sometimes it does everything right and you get the full use, other times it doesn’t even connect, add’s an air of suspense on every journey Laughing

For those with the BT iPhone 4 does your phone hang up when you press the red phone icon on the RR central display? Everything works on mine but hanging up the call which I can only do from the handset which is annoying. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Works fine on mine but just ocassionally I have to re-pair the car and my i-phone4. I have a Parrot system (http://www.parrotshopping.com/uk/p_parrot_item.aspx?i=183253 ) in my Defender and that works first time every time regardless how long it is since the Defender was last used. The only problems I have with the Parrot is that when the iPhone is hooked up to the connector (rather than using B/T) and the phone is then put inside the cubby behind the head plate the unit gets very warm and also when the phone is searching for a network I get that awful pulsing noise over the speakers over the top of whatever I am listening to 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

One thing I have found with Bluetooth and my I-Phone 4 is you must approach the car with Bluetooth on and not turn it on once you have started the engin , If I do for get I find I have to turn my Venture Cam on and off to get the phone to connect . 2008 MY Supercharged
