Hi all,

I bought an Erisin ES3061B unit for my beast and installed over the weekend.

Was out and about today and after driving for approx 20 mins the radio went silent.
It still showed the station that I put it on,but no sound.
Turned it off,then back on and radio came to life. BUT not for long.

Off/on,off/on etc for a few miles then I gave up in disgust.

Any help as to what I press/program so that sound keeps coming out would be greatly appreciated.

Havent tried dvd player to see if that has the same problem yet.

Also sent an email to erisin to see what they have to say.

Try a reset, after install the little darlings get a bit confused.....

Erisin are pretty good at after sales service so they should look after you OK if that doesn't work...

Just remember to ask questions in the simplest English you can...  Pete

Well they posted a reply and included a website to download an update file.
My 'puter doesnt recognize the website when i put it into my zip extractor. Have 7zip + winzip, tried both..... no luck with either. 😡

Whats the extension of the zip.

Or is it the case the file is executable as it is or just burn it to a pen drive and upload it to the radio via the usb port. Range Rover quotes.....

The file will be a .rar file... needs to be loaded to the SD card as that's where it wants to boot from...

.rar.. tricky customers, there used to be only a few programs that would open them... seem to remember that I used winzip.... but I could be wrong, it was a long time ago  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

winzip does indeed do rar and zips..  ... - .- -.

You don't need to open the .rar just load it on an sd card and insert it then reset the unit and turn it on, it should boot from the card and load the new software... Pete

got to admit this is one of the reasons I'm holding back upgrading the stereo in car as tbh don't think I'm pc correct enough to sort out any problems with softare firmware etc even thinking of selling my gap tool bt one as the dam thing frightens the pants off me ! I'm not a techie at all !

It's really not hard, and the chances of having to mess about are pretty slim, I've fitted loads now and only had two that have needed software reloading and one of them was because I was playing to see what it would do....

Plenty of help on here, no problem giving step by step if you need it....

Just fitted a very nice totally flat screen 8" head unit in a Seat... excellent unit, crisp, clear and only £199.... Pete

My puter now will not even bring up the open with screen, a screen flashes up,but disappears instantly.
