2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey

well they collected it this morning. i wasnt there! but it took 8 attempts to start.

called this evening just before 5, still investigating and awaiting report on faults (it had others too!) Cheers

anybody on here knows if this starter motor is a TDV8 unique type or if its used in other makes/engines as well?
I will try and get the old one from the dealer if he does not need to send it back to LR.

looking at microcat part number is LR021461 which is the same as the 3.6....... which had no problems with the starter per se. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

S/M needs replacing. although currently Warranty people (not JLR) want to send an engr to confirm what LR Dealer is saying. meant to call them last thur to book appointment. Contact still not made! LR dealer has been chasing warranty people.

Not happy, car sat for two days awaiting authorisation! Cheers

got it back today, new starter motor.

something new learned.

when a vehicle is bought with warranty by a third party, tie them down on how long it takes them to get an engr to visit and then ok the work! Cheers

Bad starting heaviour back even with new starter.
Anybod else having this sort of problem?

Will bring back to dealer once again.
