As Stan said, works on bluetooth so no range to speak of. You would need to get everyone on their smart phones with the app loaded to find your car once it had gone any distance. Could be fine for luggage etc John

If you want a cheap tracker, get one of these, stick a sim card in, you only have to connect 12v positive and an earth, lots of other options to wire in if you want but for a basic tracker it works great, you can programme it to tell you if it moves, goes outside a geofence, goes above a certain speed etc...

The problem with the TK103, both the hard-wired version shown by Pete and the smaller pocketable version, is that they are 2G (GSM) only. I don't know when the UK 2G network will close but for Aussies, Telstra's is closing on 1st Dec 2016, Optus in April 2017, and Vodafone haven't announced when their network is closing but I'd expect it will follow not long after the other two.

As far as I know there has been no date given for switching off any of the UK 2G network so should be fine for some time yet. 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Sorry Rob, didn't see your post.... I've put the GPS and GSM aerials under the dash top, plenty of room for them and they get a good signal even through the elec front screen... Never had an issue with coverage... they do have their limitations but they do work as promised in the advert, and for a one off payment of less than £30 you can't go wrong.... Pete
