If you leave the key in the ignition the car is going to stay awake , that means 30 odd ECU's all powered up and draining the battery . I think they will force themselves to shut down after a while like 10 minutes or so but by then the damage would have been done . 2008 MY Supercharged

Have you had the output of your alternator checked? |

Thanks for both of your responses. This morning I went to the local NAPA auto store and had both batteries and the alternator tested. As expected, the new battery having a CCA rating of 900, tested about 985. The old battery having a ratng of 850,m was just over 400. I was surprised in that my Rover always cranked with ease.
