Did we ever have a chance ?

Did we EVER have any REAL chance of the world cup ? Or DID the BBc have a part to play ? Knowing our country it would of ended up costing us a fortune anyway ! Did / Do we have the Infrastructure in place to handle something of this size and scope ?

What are your thorghts ?

Err... no. Rolling Eyes

And as for the remainder:

Can you really blame the BBC for reporting on the beyond corruption FIFA?

Infrastructure? I dare say we'd have it pretty well nipped after hosting the 2012 Olympics... or so you'd think.

Just glad we didn't get it quite frankly. That would have been weeks of misery for anyone trying to use our already crap public transport into London. A massive influx of more jobless feckers ready to claim asylum the minute they land.

Dunno what I was worried about though. We never win anything unless we're up against the French. Even the Olympics will be a royal PITA and I secretly wish the French had won that bid.

With regard to the having things in place after the Olympics, i think we will have to wait and see. Its gonna cost a fortune to put things in place and i doubt it will work !

I would agree with the Olympics if at the same time they were building all the roads for it they had Incorporated a new F1 track. A waste of Time, Space & Money.

I'm glad the WC isn't coming here, it will mean our own drunken hooligans are in a foreign country and hopefully a few less will come back.

Does the existance of this thread mean we didn't get the football thing in 2018 ?

If so.. Thumbs Up Shame we got saddled with the olympics too. Sad

The Olympic Delivery commitee is doing the most bonkers stuff to spend money right now.
Including making a few miles of road between central and East London look nice. This involves washing buildings, replacing any damaged bricks, new windows, new doors and new shopfronts... all at the taxpayers expense so the visitors in 2012 think London looks OK as they drive past.

We got a letter last year to advise us of extra noise, as they had bought a whacking great soil washing machine. I kid you not. Dig up the soil, wash it, and fill up the hole again. Nice, fresh contamination free soil. Yippee.

UK short of money... obviously. Rolling Eyes

Sad about World Cup.

Newspapers are asking why. Boris is asking for an enquiry.

David Beckham is asking "Where's Russia"? Laughing Laughing
