Front suspension maintenance | |
I have a 2014 L405 SDV8 with almost 90,000 miles - it runs beautifully except the knocking in the front suspension that is common.
The front anti-roll bar bushes have been replaced and that made a big difference but some knocking still remains mostly noticeable on rutted surfaces and sleeping policemen. It is under extended warranty so I am hoping that the warranty company will address the struts and valve block at the next service but I am thinking I will get charged for changing a set of lower wishbones first due to the mileage.
I could do the wishbones myself and am tempted to do so before the service to save some money - I understand that it is generally the lower front wishbones that need replacing first. Can anyone confirm?
I will do both sides, and will likely buy complete wishbones rather than just changing the bushes - mostly because the ball joints will get changed then as well.
Thoughts and advice please. I know that Cam Tech Craig got the whole strut/valve chest change done at 78/- ish miles - anyone had it done at higher mileages than that? I am always fearful I get a "wear and tear mate" answer.
Thanks
