England 2016 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Aintree Green
Why's that engine so small??????

Went to my local dealer today to look over my new RR, just wanted to check all o.k.

Colour and interior as ordered.....check.
Extras as ordered......................check.

Just have a quick look under the bonnet, just for curiosities sake.
What do I see? Strange that engine looks very small, I'm sure my current one fills the whole engine bay. Dealer goes off to check.....
It's a V6!!! Funny seeing as I ordered a V8.

Well Land-Rover what is going to happen now? Just a small problem seeing as I've just had to pay to have the tachograph taken out of my current car ready to go into the new one, going to leave me in a bit of a pickle. 2016 RR SDV8 Vogue (Aintree Green)

There was one on here recently - the upset was he was allowed to keep the 'wrong' car until a new one to the right spec was delivered - that should be you're negotiating stance Thumbs Up

That's all well and good but I need a vehicle with a tachograph and without it I can't do any work! 2016 RR SDV8 Vogue (Aintree Green)

Can't they fit the tachograph to the one at the dealers than move it again ?

It will be months before the right car is built

Here's the mis-build thread.

It involves a little bit of cutting to the glovebox back!
Not sure they would like that! 2016 RR SDV8 Vogue (Aintree Green)

Who cares what they would like Laughing

It's clearly their mistake - I would firmly state what you expect & see how they respond - they can always replace the glove box Whistle

Worst case they should provide you with another car of similar spec - fit the tacho to that & then move it to your new car for free.

I'll wait and see what they come up with next week, I have a long list.....

I just had a bad feeling about this new car, it started with it being delivered to the wrong dealer 2 weeks ago. If I had known then that it had the wrong engine I would't have had the tacho taken out of the current R-R.

Also when it was delivered to my dealer it had 21" wheels on it because the dealer where it went had a car there with the wrong wheels, so they just did a swap. It is a base Vogue, ordered with 20" wheels. I wanted the Autobiography 22" wheels, so bought a new set on ebay ready to fit on arrival. 2016 RR SDV8 Vogue (Aintree Green)

You'll get more for the 21's 2nd hand so that may be a positive Thumbs Up

Also, be aware that if you fit 22's then you will need to inform your insurance company that you made a modification - I did the same thing - turbine 22's & titled windows done afterwards - so they are not on the build sheet.

I put it down as zero value, but some insurance companies seem to increase the quotation anyway Confused

Thumbs Up It's not been a problem for me - don't think I've been over about 180km/h so happy enough with such a low restriction.

I'm rarely in Germany, but in the UK it's a 110 limit & France 130 so a capability of 220 is more than adequate for me Smile
