United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black
In car telephone

Hi,

I have a 2004 4.4 Vogue, and looking for some advice regarding the telephone. I bought a Vodaphone sim card for it and now the display on the phone says registering base, the display on the sat nav screen is there but can`t be opened. also there are no lights on the top right hand corner just above the telephone button. Any help would be greatly appriecated.

Thank you.

I'm assuming you mean the factory fit option with a handset in the centre cubby box and the slot for the sim below it?

The lights on the head unit on mine show solid red when there is no signal or when no sim card is in the slot. It shows solid green when you're making a call and no lights when there is a signal and the phone is ready.

The telephone option should come up on the display and show the signal strength and allow you to dial numbers or make an emergency call. The display also should show "reading SIM" when you put the sim card into the slot for a few seconds.

My system originally had a fault - which turned out to be as simple as a loose connector into the telephone system box/amp in the rear of the car where the DSP amp etc is. I got a PAYG sim from Tesco and it now works fine. Current:
