L322 2008 sat nav fault

Dear All

My sat nav keeps displaying "dvd map error" after about 10 mins after start. Sometimes it works again for a short period but then displays the same error message. I have installed another disc but same thing happens.

Any clues chaps?!!

I'm sure some folks who actually know what they're talking about will be along soon Smile but in the meantime you could try using one of those CD/DVD cleaning discs in case your DVD's laser has got mucky. 2006MY 4.2 SC

if this happens with an OE disc then the unit is knackered and needs replacing.... ... - .- -.

I had this problem, and it was a faulty dbd lens.

It was beyond me to replace the sensor, but I did buy one of these - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Top-qualit...1157.html, which was identical and took an hour to remove from car, strip down and rebuild, without going down to component level.

I believe the cost to get the unit repairs was about £250, so it was a decent saving.

Looks like Brexit has hurt the price somewhat....

The disc installed is not a MAP DVD

Hi
I am getting this error on my 2009 Vogue. I bought a new DVD, not manufacturer and I am still getting the same error.
I read somewhere that RR only like top quality coloured DVD's or they don't work. Do you think this is my problem or do you think the head unit is Censored ?

I did not want to repost as I am sure the same question will have been asked a thousand times.

Thank you.

If it's not reading a new disc, and a head cleaner has not worked, it's time to blame the drive....

Any chance it does not like the disc? Read somewhere something about the quality of the dics? Or is that rubbish?

If its the drive, then any suggestions where to look for one?

Thanks
