Got a very odd brake problem , that has just come out of nowhere on my 02 diesel

Pull away at low speed i.e very light touch on the accelerator no more than 2 mph and no issues , any faster and the brakes come on by them self, press the accelerate to keep it moving and the brakes grab harder completely stopping the car . take my foot off the accelerator and the car will crawl along again !!!
Read all the fault codes and the only one I have is air suspension, pump over heat, even when I clear that it still happens. Disconnected the battery checked the fuses etc. still can't find any faults 

Any ideas what it could be or what I can check ?

HDC - hill descent control is on? (See switch down by the gearstick)

Or abs is activating? (Sorry not got a solution)

I had a similar problem with mine - was a knackered abs sensor - if you look under the front wheel arch you can see a blue socket - it's behind a black cover (turning the wheel onto full lock makes it easier to spot) If you disconnect the abs sensor it will stop all of them from working - (the abs lamp will come on on the dash) but nor more hill decent and abs....

At least you can drive it!!

Then all you need to do is find the abs senor that's broken ...

pulled fuse 63 and it all works now , just got to work out which ABS sensor it is now

On that age of car, good chance it will be one of the Reluctor rings. Fault is logged as abs sensor as previously mentioned, but the rings corrode over time, thus giving nothing for the abs sensor to read from. If the sensor is good, the rings can be purchased without having to buy a complete driveshaft assembly.

Any quick way of telling which wheel I should look at first ? Not getting any faults shown

found i can get live data from the BMW tool , getting 0 speed from rear right wheel at least i have a starting point now
