Low Range or lack of it

Hi Guys,
Took the dog out for a walk before and on the way home though about low range and though i would give it a quick go. Now I've never used it in anger but do every now and again engage it just to make sure it works. Same today though i would just check its ok............nothing! no warning on the dash to say engage neutral, no lights no nothing. tried in every gear, brake on/off but nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere? looked in the glovebox but there wasn't a low range one. Its as if the switch isn't working? possible?
This isn't a big problem for me as its not likely to be needed, BUT if its there i want it to work!
Rob
