I'm sure you won't be paying either way but suspect it's just not been set up right. Mine is still showing that it needs a service on incontrol even though it had a service last week, seems that the dealer forgot to set the thing up and it means another trip to a dealer just to reset it. |

Given the number of failures on the TDV6, it sounds like you're doing the right thing - take it straight in & let them sort it out - you can't afford to ignore any warning as it gives them warranty wiggle room...... |

I experienced the same problem. There was no need for a service before 12 months or 16,000 miles whichever came first. The Incontrol app also told me I needed a service. The dealer reset the service indicator when I booked it in because of the faulty message. I have just had a first service at 15,700 miles. I think the software may have been upgraded to fix this error. |

I didn't specifically say issues with the 2016 TDV6 - but you know the thread

But in that thread the OP says in a post dated 6 July 2016 that the problem was a known one that affected a wide VIN range up to early 2015.

Dealer did an oil service under warranty citing that that it was a bit early. No issues with the sensor but they claimed that DPF regeneration can lead to oil degeneration.
Interesting to note that I have never had a DPF warning on the car before, I guess the car does also not warn you of the oil level rising also. My car does a lot of short journeys in the week so I guess this is the cause of the partial regeneration and the oil break down. 2021 L405 Vogue D300 2016 L405 Vogue 3.0TDV6 (Sold) |

Diesels & short journeys don't seem to mix well - a good italian tune up every once in a while should help - discussed a bit on this thread
