Rear Console Air Duct in rear left cubby holding rust

The dreaded rust in the rear left wing is back so I bit the bullet and stripped part of the rear cubby. TBH am going to repair the rear camera too so got my big hammer out and set about the work.

I now know where the rust is and Shocked Shocked Shocked there is loads of it. I have scraped it and blown it out but I cannot trace any entrance from above. I had assumed through a window seal or roof. The rubber gasket around the rear console air duct has perished and seems to have been the source. Anyone had this fault or replaced the duct gasket or even better got a solution?
My thought is to treat the area then fit a new gasket or possibly sikaflex...am I on the right lines... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
