Oh the joys...

...of not owning a FFRR Shocked

Two MOTs in two days and straight pass on both. The tester today was mega efficient/cautious/pernickity as the MOT station was expecting the VOSA inspector in, I was glad to get out before his arrival Very Happy

not really... its just so good thesedays, that cars seem to pass far more MOT's than from when i remember, during the 80's and 90's, when you would always fail on somthing, that was either worn, clunking, or rusty. (or all three) i only do obvious checks, (lights tyres, wipers, visuals etc.)before i take in my car, the missus' my mother's and sometimes a friend etc. they all seem to be passing, year after year. so, i wouldn't say it was the RR, its just better made cars, seemingly are lasting longer.

obviously, electrical faults, rarely get comments from the tester, unless its affecting emissions.
so that field is not so simple, as it was...

i remember an old jag.. you had to say many prayers, and you'd get a whole list of things... every year. Shocked

Brag!!! me? never. Just nice to have straight passes, took 4 years of ownership with the FFRR before that happened though Shocked Every year there was something else that was a black mark against it so it felt like it would never happen Sad

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Barolo Black

I've had mine a year exactly and done 10,000 miles almost to the mile. Sailed through it's MOT yesterday without an advisory.
That's definitely a good feeling coming away from the testing station. I appreciate it could have been a whole lot worse.

Jobs done during the year are;

2 oil changes (5K apart)
Gearbox service (Cam-Tech-Craig)
Diff oils done
Both intercooler top hoses (Only one split)
Some brake lines (paid for by the selling garage)

I'm mindful that at 97K miles things are getting on a bit, so must accept that but I'm really enjoying ownership at the minute.

everything we have passed this year as well with the notable exception of Censored van. which failed because the washer pump had imploded on itself!

Which reminds me... I've got a handbrake cable to change before an mot next month... The tester broke it last year but passed it as he saw it was working before it snapped!! Only done about 100 miles since.... Better get it done I suppose! Previously..

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

MOT! What's that? 😆In WA it appeares you can get away with murder , if you stay out of plodwyn's way and that's not hard now they have been turned into mobile cameras hidden in the bushes you'l never get asked to test your car as long as you keep the registration up to date . I regularly see cars with four completely bald tyres , no brake lights and or no dampers usually all three . I used to dred MOT time a bit , now I dred going out on the roads if it's even slightly damp 😳 2008 MY Supercharged
