I've seen them on fleabay for £1800 (new OEM parts). Not sure what fitting would cost though. |

Yes, I thought they were dealer only as well. The wife has them on her L405 and they are very good even on access mode. You can lock them in the out position to allow jacking.

+1. I had them fitted on my L322 and have them on my L405 too. Once you have them you won't do without.

The switch is in the panel with the remote boot release just to the right of the steering column below the steering wheel at hip height sitting in the seat. |

Starting this year it can be a factory option, technically a port option but still much cheaper than the dealer |

Thanks, found it! Mine's on the left of the steering wheel being LHD. Can you lock the steps both in the out and in position (preventing the steps from deploying when opening the door)? My disabled father finds it easier to get in the car without the steps with the suspension in access mode. |

The button seems to be used to stop them coming out (switch them off) and also to override the forced inactivity due to terrain response setting. So, yes you can stop them coming out but I don't think you can have one side off and one side on. There is a seperate manual for the steps. Should be in the dealer pack or you can access it on LRTopix. |

I've found references on Topix but not a manual, as such, that tells me how to disable the Deployable Side Steps (e.g. for wheel changing). After speaking to my dealer and after some trial and error, the following seems to work consistently:

Thanks. I didn't get a separate manual as I did with my L322. Will print that and try it out. Thanks again. That's what a forum is all about. Great community. |

@KeithG934. I have tried the procedure to lock the steps in or out but the button doesn't do anything, no flashing light, no operation of the steps, nothing. Strange. |
