Rear light cluster water ingress

I noticed that water ingress, must have been when it was jet washed, I removed & it appears intact so must have been forced in at a seam.

I drilled a small 4mm hole to drain the water (1/2 egg cup) but can get rid of the residual so I've have plugged the hole.

I hear a new unit is expensive ~£600, so can anybody advise how to dry them out?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Remove light, take all the bulbs etc out then in the airing cupboard until it's dry, don't take it out the airing cupboard if it's real cold outside or condensation will fog it up again... Thumbs Up Pete

i'd leave the hole you've drilled un-pluged so the light unit can 'breathe'. ... - .- -.

I'm with Pete on this. I did the same. I also used superglue round the edges of the light unit to re stick it, and then when that had dried, used clear silicon over the top very thinly to ensure no more water ingress. Totally invisible repair. Its been jet washed loads since and not a drop inside the light.
Don't use the tumble dryer to dry them though ! Thumbs Up Tony

Same problem with mine. 3mm hole drilled in the bottom of each and not had a problem since. ( took couple of days to clear)
As Stan said, leave hole unplugged.
