Awesome GT car

1000 miles in to trip and so far it's the best grand tourer I've owned. Monday drove to Cologne gets taking ferry to Dunkirk, saving £200 over Calais ferry. Plenty of LPG stations on route and sooooo comfortable. Cologne hotel car park was very low and narrow but Big Blue squeezed in eventually, getting out of space was a chore the next morning. Yesterday we drove down to Chamonix, when permittable cruise control at a comfortable 90mph and still returned 20.5 mpg Mr. Green

Grand St. Bernard pass to Chamonix was amazing and 4 year old daughter was only sick once with the very very twisty road. Remembered Stan's comment about the pass warping discs so took it gently, which meant was able to see the views.

Levine Chamonix now to Tuscany, using the tunnel not the pass as using the pass again on way back. Looking forward to Italian drivers. Germans on the autobahn were an example of how fast motorway driving should be done though it was weird trying to work out if we were going fast enough (90mph) to pull out to overtake on occasion. Great experience and more to come. Current:

Unfortunately internet is so slow where we are in Tuscany that photos won't load. We are in the middle of nowhere here in Italy and car filthy with dust so looks the part. Still getting over 20mpg on average here as there's no daudlers or pedestrian crossings every 50 yards like back home. Haven't seen another uk car for a few days and the Italian drivers have been great. If I'm sticking to the speed limit like a tourist they just pass no gesturing out the window as they speed past in an area which supposedly has cameras!!!
Heading for a pizza in Pisa, walk in Florence and dinner in Sienna tomorrow all in around 150 mile round trip and thanks to a post here on keeping aircon on back home all the time I have wonderful cool air thankfully wafting through the cabin though the cooled seats were useless today in 32c heat. Current:

Fantastic trip over 10 days taking in Cologne, Chamonix, Great St Bernard Pass, Switzerland, Tuscany. Big Blue behaved superbly. So comfortable we could have easily gone another 10 days and another 3k miles. Current:

Took a lot of notice of Stan's warped discs warning on Grand St Bernard pass and was very pleased with 282mpg for 30 minutes of going downhill. 4 Year old only threw up once on it and smell has gone so no harm done. I fantastic trip I would recommend to anyone, even those with families. Current:
