England 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver
Finally got one

Finally, after many a year of lusting after them, I collect my very first Range Rover on Monday. It's a 2006MY 4.2 supercharged with 87,000 miles on the clock. I wasn't initially looking for an SC but as soon as I drove one I was hooked – amazing power!! Hope it doesn't prove too addictive…. Whistle

I haven't been this excited over a car purchase since I was a young man. I guess, in part, it's due to years of self-denial over reliability concerns – but after a recent health scare I developed a "sod it" mindset and just went out and bought one Twisted Evil

I'm really pleased to have found the FFRR community – it's an amazing resource of collected wisdom. In fact, after reading all the posts about gearbox and other problems I've got quite a list of jobs lined up already. Sure, it's going to increase the cost of ownership in the first few months but I figure it's better to do them before the winter weather sets in; and from what I've been reading on FFRR, preventative maintenance is important with these beasts to try and avoid huge repair bills further down the line.

Only two sleeps to go . . . 2006MY 4.2 SC

Welcome to the club , i was similar always liked them but kept buying with my head .
Since February i have been wandering about with a stupid grin , especially when i come out of the house and there it is !!
Mine's only a TD6 , but funny how once you've got one you seem to keep looking for better ones !!
Try and only look at the fuel gauge to check if it needs filling up , and just enjoy it , there is no better place to sit Thumbs Up

England 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver

I know, I know – I'm such a slacker. I've been so busy checking out all its toys I haven't taken a single picture of it yet.

Today I've got half way through the 300-page owners manual and, by way of a change, tonight's bedtime reading is the audio system booklet (only 68 pages in that so easy peasy). [yawn]

Whilst I was rooting round all the interior's nooks and crannys I found a pair of neat storage cases in the rear door pockets. I unzipped them and found the wireless headphones for the rear DVD system which was a nice surprise as I thought they were missing. What was an even bigger surprise was they were still in the original cellophane wrapping – never been used! The (presumably) original batteries were still in their sealed packets and I could just make out the old "use by" date.

Photos tomorrow! 2006MY 4.2 SC

Finally got round to taking some pics this afternoon. I'm glad i took them coz when it's dark outside and I can't see the car, I can still gaze lovingly at the images on my iPad Very Happy Rolling Eyes

Can anyone tell from the pics what the name of the interior colour combo is?

Also, are the 20" alloys a JLR item or aftermarket – does anyone know the name of them?
