Hi,

Car goes into reverse fine, and "r" shows on the dashboard.

However neither the pdc system activates (nor can be from the center console) nor the mirror dip function works.

This happened a few weeks ago and spontaneously fixed itself.

Been like this for the last 24 hours and I'm rubbish at parking at the best of times so need to get it fixed!

A potential clue: when it initially happened, I banged the center console to the left of the pdc switch a few times and for a few seconds the system worked, before failing again. Later that evening all was fine.

Any ideas?

Mirror dip is usually the selector switch - the one you use to select which mirror to adjust - one position dips in reverse, the other doesn't

Thanks for that but I don't think this is the case as the PDC doesnt activate in reverse either. It is like part of the electrical system is.not detecting selection of reverse gear.
