It's definitely aftermarket....

Quite a few have replaced the BMW based systems with android based units.

Does it say anything when you first power it on?

Only way to know for sure is to remove it and have a look see.... If others on here don't know.

That will involve taking the dash top off......

It's a generic Android head unit, probably made by Erisin..

It's basically an Android tablet with dedicated buttons for various features....

How do get the wifi working, and fit a reverse camera

Settings, wifi, turn it on and wait for it to find your hot spot etc...

There is a plug in the back of the unit for a reverse camera, dash out job...

Looks like you don't have a card in the GPS slot, if you get one and send it to me I can put the latest satnav off line software on it for you... drop me a PM if you want me to...  Pete

Thank you, I have just tried and it don't turn on, I did wonder why the sat nav didn't work, when you turn the stereo on it comes up with android 4.4. Is it running the latest software ?

When you say it doesn't turn on, do you mean the switch that says on/off doesn't go on or it can't find any hotspots...??

These are based on Android software but have bit's added and other bits changed... you can't update them without getting the software from the makers....

Mine runs 4.4.2. and works better than my mates that runs 4.4.4. and I can't see a difference between them....

I do have the latest 4.4.4. software but if yours is running OK then it's best not to push it, you may end up with an expensive paperweight...!!!! Pete

You go to select on and it won't turn on

That looks exactly like mine, 4.4 android. Yours must be recent as its still got the shipping screen protector on. Just treat it like an android phone or tablet to get online then download what apps you want. Mine has IGO as the default Nav app but you can use any like Navmi with free maps. Have you got the GPS aerial on the top of the dash?
I use Rocket Player for music, shows all album art and lyrics. Brilliant unit, I chose it as it has better processor and ram than others and a high res screen.
