Playing music with my phone

Hi. I've owned a Range Rover now for 4 days. It's a 2006 HSE. I have figured out how to mate my phone to the bluetooth feature of the stereo. However, I am unable to play music from my phone over the speakers. I am beginning to think that it is not a function of that year vehicle. Would someone in the know give me some direction please?

Also, and probably for another thread, I opened a cubby hole in the cargo area, on the driver's side rear, and lo and behold there was/is a DVD player. However, I have no video screens in my vehicle other than the one on the dash. I found that odd.

DVD is your Nav not a DVD player as such, as for the music from your phone , there is much much much chatter on here about it, upshot is it is not cheap for fully integrated and not that great even then and then there are some more compromised answers , do you have an Aux jack in the rear of the centre console ? i,e, one rear passengers could plug in to . cars with rear seat entertainment and some year /market specific cars have it . 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks for the reply. No aux jack on my rear console. Do I need a DVD to upgrade my NAV?
