Hi folks can anyone shed some light on this please and provide a part number for me or better still sell me the part.
On the lower bell housing next to the crank locking pin hole is a circular inspection hole aprox 2" diameter. Normally this should be blanked off by some type of rubber bung/grommet as in "Wallis"😕
Try as I may I can't find it on microcart and worst still none of my regular suppliers can't either.
So if you can come eith one it would be a great help.

Which engine do you have?

If it’s a M62 4.4 V8, RealOEM lists a BMW part number 11 13 1 731 178, which I assume is the same part?

BMW Part number is 11-13-1731178

You can't find it easily in Microcat because it's not where you would think it would be, it comes under the engine sump parts...ask me how I know lol!

I think I bought the BMW part as it's cheaper, 2nd hand ones on ebay for £4.40 delivered just search for BMW 1731178.

Beaten to it, I'm a slow typist lol!

Check on this site for your car though

Works OK on my iPhone 5 os 9.3.4.
But it works even better on the old laptop running XP pro sp 4.
The roll overs show which illustration refers to which vehicle.
Once you get the hang of it it is quite useful for ID.' ing parts. & what should go where.
When you click on the part on screen it brings the part number up in a separate pop up.
Anyway you got your bit sorted.
Just mentioning this for others that may be reading the post.
