I had a similar thing withy old p38n and it turned out to be corrosion on the inside of the main feed to the starter motor it woulds turn on etc but not crank then two minutes later it would try putting another cable from battery to starter not sure of the circuit on the l322 but just double it up cables from motor factors about a tenner - it may not be the issue but that was the problem I had apparently when the temperature varies the lead can pass less current worth a look |

Thank you for your messages of support. This is the third battery l put on this car, bought after much research and good guidance from this forum. The battery works fine but it's the drain when the car's supposed to be silent that creates the problem. I travel abroad a lot with my work so the car is often parked up for days on end at the airport and baggage reclaim is always a fraught time wondering whether the damn thing will start. Yes l guess l could swap it for an Audi or a Dacia or something else but no car will have the same pull for me as FFRR so l have to live with it l guess.
