Looks like I was lucky with the alternator it got that hot it burnt off the label saying what it was ( 8 ring rather than 6 ring to those in the know )

As am having the alternator replaced i am also doing the turbo hoses as the car is in bits.

Anything else that I should have changed whilst it is in bits ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE

I needed an alternator, turbo hoses, rear callipers and a coolant pipe during my ownership

I just received a turbo drain pipe @90 stg because I read they can become restricted with residue build up. Now just have to find a thread on how to fit it !! 2015 4.4 AB

My Alternator just died on my 3.6 as well, 69k miles.. Fortunately I had a warranty and land Rover covered it, but jeezo they charged the warranty company £789 and that was warranty rate. Not sure of the alternator cost but I am sure a lot of it was labour, no idea how they got it out...
