Help - loads of warnings

Hi all

Shortly after leaving home this morning the instrument cluster lit up and car went on to safe mode. Carried on until I had somewhere to pull over. Faults showing included - gearbox, suspension, abs, ebd, charging system, adaptive lighting, cruise control. Car would lock and unlock but boot would not open.
Using IID tool cleared all faults and then started car - no weird noises (thankfully). Following faults showed up on IID tool;

U2101-00(2F) Control module configuration incompatible

U2300-64(2F) Central configuration - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure.

Got car home and checked battery, alternator and auxiliary belt - no issues.
Car would then not start.

Changed battery and car started. All looked well until I tried a test run. Can manage 500yds and then all then warnings come on again.
Reset clears all with exception of those above.

Firstly - where is the BCU located on 2010 model TDv8 - its not under the seats
Secondly - any help with how resolve issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks NM

The symptoms suggest low voltage so likely a failed alternator/generator.

What he said above. Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running, anything less than 13.5V is likely to be an issue with the alternator.

Fully recharged the battery. Showing 13+ on voltmeter. Went for test run. All warnings back on. Got back to house stopped engine and checked voltage - now 11.0v. Wont restart. Back on charger.

95,000 miles

What is the voltage at 1100 rpm?

It should be around 14.4 V

Left car with local independent. It appears it's not the alternator. Common fault on list is failure to communicate with abs ecu. He has checked it but no faults show up.
Only puzzle at present is that when faults appear there is only a 3v supply showing at the secondary fuse/relay board in engine bay.
He is currently checking wiring and connections.

Problem solved

Hi all

Got car back this afternoon. It was a faulty/loose fuse link located in the junction box behind the battery.
Mechanic reckoned that the car had had the fault from new as the mounting bolts had been cross threaded and therefore the terminals were not properly secured. He said that the fault could have occurred at any time and could have appeared to cure itself depending on the contact afforded.
Alternator checks out OK and all fault codes are cleared.

Sounds like you have found a good local independent garage.

Yep. He trained and worked for local main dealer prior to setting up on his own. He only deals with Land Rover - mainly Discos and Sports - apparently they give the most problems.

And I though Full Fats were full of interesting features Laughing
