Oh yes, now I remember from where I heard that attitude before, my father told me how he survived the concentration camps from 1942 until 1945 and how the Germans thought about human beings not being of their class.....

Nothing to do with political incorrect but with Social intelligence

No emoticon to soften my words, IMO your way of thinking is disgusting

Well I was born in 1960, and vividly remember people still talking about the war. I also remember most people in this country boasting how we won the war. But did we?
Our country was left broken, in debt, still on rationing into the 50's, the aristocracy still thought it was business as usual, no investment in industry and more importantly, no investment in people. We were forced to give up the empire and let them have independence, probably a good thing. We still held on to the commonwealth, a good thing.?
Of course our countries have so many different types of social structure, I think your country did things the right way, by investing in your infrastructure and people. I have witnessed german firms at work in the uk, rather than hire say a rotor broach from down the road, they would send home to Germany, in effect the cycle of money kept in the country.
Now our country, still with a lot of pre war machinery, battled on, standards of living no where near as good as germany, the strikes of the 70's, disgruntled employees wanting more. Then came , we'll join the common market, free trade around Europe, no sooner we did that along came thatcher, wielding her axe to dirty industry, the computer was to be the be all and end all of everything, how wrong was she.
She stopped all apprenticeship's and long term good training, really bad move. Alot of other problems in between, but looking back we didn't win the war, I reckon Europe has been laughing at us for years. Aside from that, the older people (voters) have come out in their droves because they have witnessed an EU, that has grown from a common place to trade, to a beurocratic monster, unelected.
so when you tar us as being dumb and lemmings, I think you need to know there are a lot of intelligent ordinary people in the uk, hard working and getting nowhere, sadly lack of investment in our people, due to cuts and circumstances.
No I didn't go to university, I did go to college on an apprenticeship scheme, city &guilds in fabrication and welding, I dont class myself as intelligent, but I have a good awareness of the world around me, who it's really run by, who pulls the strings, and I might add, you would be surprised how many people on the shop floors of the uk know that. We know our place and it works, as far as brexit is concerned, these hierarchy people will now be held accountable for there actions, no more blaming European rules and regulations to hide behind.
no one knows what the future holds for any of us, especially the smirks and derogatory remarks from the politicians abroad, but there are elections in a few major countries this and next year, a lot of those politicians won't be in office.
So I hold my breath on what is to come.
no offence Thumbs Up

Nice efford Gregdav, but reading and understanding what is written is not the strongest quality of this german. Looking down on others is. Arrogance..?

And btw german in 6 years you'll have my age, poor you. Are you going to send me more PM's trying to insult me, like the last discussion we had..? Grow up and buy a brain.

End of discussion for me

Bye bye

@XXXANGELXXX. Don't get me wrong, I know a good education doesn't need to be had to get on in life.
I have family from the back streets of london, couldn't read or write, and has been a multi millionaire for many years, right place right time, as to speak. My essay Embarassed was to put over an understanding of our social cultures and differences, since the war, and no way want to upset anyone , especially about the jumped up painter and decorator from Austria who massacred an entire race. This is from my eyes as an ordinary shop floor worker, my experiences and what I witnessed over the years.
maybe it was a good thing maggie thatcher did, as the new companies of late are having to invest in new machinery and technology.
Anyway I could go on and on, we'll see what the future holds.
Greg. Thumbs Up
