Reverse camera woes

My reverse camera recently packed up and started displaying a black screen with a few lines on it. Knowing that it had been replaced before I was hoping for a relatively easy switch and deliberated over which camera to buy.

I finally got round to doing it today and it was an epic fail and ultimately a waste of time. Once I took the spoiler off I carefully pulled the wiring through the hole in the body work and thought I was in luck as it would be plug and play. Unfortunately, and this. Ya be the root of the problem, the plug came off the wiring leaving only an inch or so proud of the body making it near impossible to make a new connection.

I did manage to make a connection but the picture is not brilliant. After much messing about I decid d to give up. This is where the fun started as the spoiler would not lock back into place on the plastic guides Censored and the camera I got won't fit properly so is hanging inside the car.

If I want to fix it I am going to have to get another camera and find a way of getting more wiring out of the car to make the connection.

Can anyone suggest the best way to acces the loom to try and free some more wire?

I love this car but with an ever growing list of niggles the shine is gradually wearing off Big Cry
