Reversing Camera

Last year the reversing camera decided to work / not work when it felt like it. So, after watching a few "how to" YouTube
vids decided to have a go at it. This one I found the most useful :-

After gingerly pulling off the centre tailgate upper panel I was greeted with this view :-

Using a small homemade wire hook I probed the indicated hole and managed to pull the following wires and their connectors into view :- Upper brake light (black connector), Camera signal wire (with brass inline plug / socket) and Power supply to camera (white connector). Disconnected them, undid the 3 M10 bolts and worked as per the above video.

NB: The spoiler locates on 2 bosses in keyhole slots on the underside of the spoiler, with bolts removed slide spoiler towards you then carefully lift it off the car. To replace, line up the keyhole full holes with each boss and push towards the front of the car until it stops, position spoiler (trim gap with edge of roof) and finally tighten the 3 bolts.

Picture taken before I destroyed the block connector showing the 4 coloured wire locations :-

I carefully cut the offending black block connector apart to remove the 4 wires with the crimped on plugs, then cut away the pcb mounted black socket sides and bent the 4 pins slightly outwards (to give more clearance).

Carefully pushed the leads (still with plugs attached) back onto the pins. Then soldered the plug and respective pin together. Added black silicone sealant around the camera casing pressed together, refitted into spoiler and spoiler back onto car, after pulling leads through large hole, reconnected everything, replaced centre white trim panel.
Started car up, selected reverse, it works!!! Thumbs Up
