Hi thanks for the reply, no I'm aware one is diesel and one is petrol, I'm just unsure Of what to go for really I think it will depend on what has the lower mileage or better service history. Fuel consumption isn't really an issue as I won't be doing many miles. |

You should really drive one of each as they are very different.

As per Alistair, drive both, different vehicles IMHO. I have had TD6 and TDV8 and prefer the TD6, horses for courses as they say. If I was in your position I would buy the best petrol you can find |

I'm amazed that you found the TD6 better than the TDV8 |

Can't remember for sure I think it was several 1000s from LR and around a 1000 from an auto box place (Gloucester Road Gearboxes Bristol), probably a bit more for VAT |

Alan, its personal thing I also live in a 200 year old farm house and wouldnt swap it for an all singing dancing new one, yes it needs constant care and money but I love it and it works for me, I do have sensible cars as well ![]() |

Fair play boys, I prefer the effortless torgue of the TDV8 without the tractor soundtrack but each to their own and all that |

Alan, mine is a cracker had it 10 years and has cost me a fortune, now what doesnt work.Air condtioning - dont need it, park sensors - I can see, radio details - who cares, wing mirrors dont fold - WTF , doesnt engae gear till warm - start her up earler, do I love her - YES. had a TDV8 and sold it after 6 months as scared the pants off me from a mechanical perspective. As an aside and ruining my argument, mine is used soley for towing and not as an everyday car |

Go for the 4'4 petrol if you are not doing many miles, get someone who knows to look at one with you .After purchase get some diagnostics on it to see any potential problems.Check dates for radiator, gearbox cooler and wether transmission oil has been changed as a matter of urgency.Enjoy your drive ! |
