Dads X Type Diesel Won't Start When Warm...

As per title, he says it starts first touch when cold, but then he doesn't want to turn if off if he goes out somewhere as it doesn't want to fire when warm/hot..... He can sometimes get it to go by pumping the throttle, but if it does fire, it like runs on 2 cylinders and the whole car shakes.... He can the sometimes turn it off, and back on, and it's fine.....

I know he needs to get the codes read, hoping its stored some, but after nearly £1000 spent on an air con fix and timing chain tensioner, my step mum is all ready to set fire to it....

Any ideas? It's a 2006 2.0 diesel.....

Cheers

Needs a firmware update, it's really common on them. Find a jag specialist to do it as jaguar will have your pants off

Dad has asked me to pass his thanks to "my forum buddies". He had the software upgrade on Monday and he says it starts first touch, seems more responsive and is smoother, all the time. He's well happy.

Thanks chaps

Awesome news, did he get an independent to do it or did he take it to jag?

He's just started using the independent that I've used for a few years, as they specialise in Jags and Land Rovers. Cost was £80.....
