Remove rear suspension air bag

Hi all

I am trying to replace the rear anti roll bar drop links and have managed one side so far but I am stuck on the nearside rear. The bottom bolt is off but the top one is totally stuck and the spanner keeps slipping off the blindside end so it needs angle grinding off. The problem is the rear suspension air bag is in the way to get the angle grinder in.

Does anyone know how to deflate this to remove it so I can get in the the drop link? I have an IID tool so could lower it but not sure of there is an easy way to just pull the connector and let the air all out.

Also if I do this will I need to reset all of the suspension again or will it self level and sort itself out?

I have looked on the search function and the wiki but cant find any reference to letting the air out of the bag. It could just be me being useless though!

You can empty one corner with the IID tool easily...

Or just pull the pipe out, doesn't really matter it will all sort itself out when you put it back together, no need for any calibration etc...

Be careful though, the small bolt on the bottom of the bag can snap off, or the part of the bag it goes into can snap off meaning a new bag is needed... Pete

Thanks Haylands. I tried the iid tool but it wouldn't do it! Only let me deflate all even the option that said deflate corners and they were no where near deflated when it said it had finished. Will have to contact gap about it.
Couldn't see the pipe either to remove it so didn't have much luck!!

Managed to get enough room to get the angle grinder in to cut the bolt into pieces which took an age and a new pair of pants as it was so close to the airbag one slip and it was an expensive mistake.
All done now so Jobs a good one.
