2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Service Interval Display

Hi Folks.

Reading the owners manual this morning, it states the service interval/oil change date/mileage, which ever you have is displayed when you turn on the ignition.

I don't see this, I get what radio station I'm on or "AUX" if I'm using that.

Is there a way of changing it either through the screen or diagnostics?

IIRC, the older cars did this, but my 2007 only ever displayed within about 1000 miles of needing the next service

2012 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

I got in to a bit of a crazy catch 22. Had the service done by the dealer when I bought the RR even though it was not due. The service required reminder came up at the annual anniversary of the previous service a few months later.

It seems you can't reset the service indicator unless it is showing. So if you get an early service before the reminder you can't reset and will get reminded too early - unless you have an IID Tool of course 2012 5.0L S/C

How is the service indicator reset when it shows? I do my own servicing on my MY12 so the message is displayed momentarily on every start-up.

You need an IID Tool or other diagnostic machine to do it. 2012 5.0L S/C

Hi Graeme,

So are you suggesting yours does it all the time and not when your are with 1000 miles (1600klms) from service?

My hand book certainly suggests this is the case.

All evidence points towards the 1000 mile "rule", I know my old D3 did that.

I can reset the service message with Hawkeye. Just noticed yours is a MY12 so maybe different.

Thanks Nomad and Jerry. I suspected that was the case.

I have a Faultmate Extreme but BBS have so far after some 8 months been unsuccessful at getting it to sync the ccf to the ecm but I'll see if it can reset the service indicator. I aim to disable the message in the ccf if BBS ever get the device working as it should.

Jerry, I have no idea if the 'service vehicle' message that shows for a few seconds shortly after start-up is time or usage based. I'm changing the engine oil and filter every 15K kms though.

It seems strange how the manual states these messages will display but no mention of the 1000 (1600klm) mile rule? THIS WRECKAGE
