Gearbox suddenly not wanting to change up

Hi All

Driving home this evening and got almost all the way home when suddenly while driving up a small incline over a bridge the transmission dropped in to 1st gear, sat at traffic lights for a couple of minutes and for the rest of the journey (luckly only about 5 minutes) the car would not shift out of first gear when in Drive. Got home and did some tests, the transmission had logged a fault:

Mechanical Torque Converter Monitor Fault (Plausability Fault, Sporadic Fault, Fault Currently Present)

That was the only fault logged. I used the system monitor in my faultmate to record the values on the transmission and 2 possibilities really stood out:

Shift Solenoid 1: ON
Shift Solenoid 2: OFF
Shift Solenoid 3: ON

Pressure Solenoid 1: 750
Pressure Solenoid 2: 780
Pressure Solenoid 3: 780
Pressure Solenoid 4: 156
Pressure Solenoid 5: 780

Oil Temp was recorded as: 135 degrees

I used manual mode and it seemed to shift up ok.

Can anyone shed any light on to this?

The car had a brand new TC fitted and at the same time I had the box refurbished and all its serviceable parts replaced only about 2/3 years ago.

Any ideas?

United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Java Black

Ok update, have left the RR to rest for a couple of hours and just gone out and it's back to normal, driving it around the local village for a bit and all seems ok. If anyone has any idea what could have caused it I would be grateful to hear. I'm maybe thinking the box got a little too hot, was 27 degrees out and I was in stop start traffic for about an hour and a half.

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

You will get a Trans overheat bong if it gets too hot... it then goes into a cooling strategy where it holds the gears longer to pump the oil faster to cool the box.... how old is the oil...??? Pete

about 3/4 years oil was changed same time as refurb and TC replacement

Could be a spec of dirt got caught in the valve body... maybe an oil change would help... just guessing here... Pete

Been driving today gearbox seems to behaving however the same error description has been logged again after clearing it.

Need to workout what the error is saying.
