I do a fair amount of town driving, so every time I got chance to put my foot down, particularly overtaking on motorways, l was embarrassed by the smoke trail I left.
In fairness to the dealer they soon accepted that it smoked, but it still took 3 attempts to try and get the work done under the LR Approved warranty, because they said it was not covered for it. Eventually they got LR to fund it as a "gesture of goodwill ", but the dealer did say that they would not have agreed had it not been still within the Approved Warranty. 2years. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Just out of interest, did you see the MOT smoke test being done ?, or did you take it for a good blast before getting it tested?
It obviously passed, so this supports your thinking, "don't worry about it."
